Kristan
is active in the criminal defense and legal community.
Kristan accepts appointments from the Office of the
Alternate Defense Counsel (“ADC”) in Boulder
County and Jefferson County courts. ADC is an association
of qualified private criminal defense lawyers who represent
indigent people eligible for court appointed counsel
when the public defender has a conflict in representing
them.
Kristan
founded the New Lawyer Division of the Criminal Defense
Bar to establish networking and mentoring opportunities
for new lawyers (defined as seven years of less in the
practice of criminal defense). As head of that division,
Kristan plans social and criminal defense training events
for new lawyers. In 2004, Kristan volunteered her time
as assistant coach to the Boulder High School Mock Trial
Team which took Third place in the State finals. Kristan
was also co-chair of the Boulder County Bar Association
New/Young Lawyer Division from 2002-2004. Kristan is
a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar where,
in addition to heading the New Lawyer Division, she
also serves on the Events Committee. For more information
